Xceedance names SVP and head of data sciences

Property/casualty insurance technology provider Xceedance has appointed Rajesh Iyer as senior vice president and head of data sciences, based in Boston.

Iyer will be responsible for managing the company’s data sciences practice, including the development of a dedicated data sciences and services team to support clients and new initiatives.

He will also collaborate with the broader Xceedance service delivery teams worldwide to create strategic data products and analytic tools.

Iyer has over 20 years of experience in insurance, having most recently served as vice president of decision analytics at EXL, based in New York.

Prior to that, Iyer was executive director, comparative pricing at USAA and director of client management at Mu Sigma in Chicago.

"Rajesh brings a wealth of data and analytics focused experience to Xceedance and we're very excited to have him on board," said Amit Tiwari, executive vice president and global head of technology at Xceedance.

"He has built data-driven solutions for the full scope of insurance operations, and he has helped numerous companies create enterprise-wide analytic solutions."

Iyer added: “Data sciences is becoming increasingly prevalent in the industry, mobilizing insurers to leverage all manner of internal, external, structured and unstructured data to inform strategic decisions.

“The insight-driven outcomes of data sciences can improve the performance of insures and support their abilities to optimise customer experience.”
