XL Catlin bolsters US global risk management division with two promotions

XL Catlin has promoted Mark McConico and Lizette Junor in its global risk management division in the US.

McConico has been appointed as senior vice president and will lead global risk management's insurance underwriting operations in the Northeast. While Junor has been appointed as the vice president to lead global risk management's underwriting operations in the south west region, in addition to her current responsibilities as leader of the multinational platform for the western US.

McConico joined Catlin in 2013, overseeing the regional growth of its primary casualty risk management business throughout the Southwest region. Prior to that, he served as vice president and casualty manager for AON's risk management and middle market groups, and held various primary casualty underwriting positions with ACE Risk Management.

Junor was hired in 2016 to lead XL Catlin's global risk management's multi national casualty practice in the Western Zone. She has previously served as the director and Western region manager of AON's global risk client network.

Ken Riegler, president of global risk management, commented: "We offer customized global solutions for the complex casualty needs of the largest companies in the United States and Canada. We bring together domestic and multinational capabilities under one product offering and provide global casualty solutions to our customers.

"I am excited for Mark and Lizette as they take on these new roles and I am thrilled that we were able to promote from within our very talented risk management team."

He added: "Mark develops strategic casualty insurance solutions that address customer insurance needs and adds value to their risk management programs. His leadership, underwriting expertise, market knowledge and enthusiasm will prove to be an asset to brokers and clients in our largest region and build on the strength of our established underwriting team."

"In the short time Lizette has been with XL Catlin, she has made a significant impact on growing our business. Our brokers and clients clearly value her skills and with these additional responsibilities she will be successful in integrating our domestic and multinational platforms."
