XL Catlin poaches Willis Towers Watson UK retail broking head

Re/insurer XL Catlin has appointed Louise Piper as UK client and distribution director.

Piper joins XL Catlin from Willis Towers Watson where she had been head of UK retail broking since 2015. She previously spent 15 years at Marsh where she held a number of leadership roles including, most recently, head of national corporate placement.

According to the International Underwriting Association, the UK is a strategic market for XL Catlin with the London insurance market equalling £48.34 billion in 2015.

Paul Greensmith, UK country leader and director of London market wholesale at XL Catlin, commented: "I am delighted that Louise will be joining us in London. With her considerable experience in underwriting, broking and client management, she is ideally positioned to lead our client and broker team in the UK."
