Zurich taps senior AIG executive as CUO commercial insurance

Zurich Insurance has appointed Sierra Signorelli as new chief underwriting officer (CUO) of commercial insurance.

Signorelli joins Zurich from AIG where she was the global head of network partner practice. Prior to that, she held a number of senior positions in AIG’s global specialties division, including chief underwriting officer and leading all specialties across the Asia Pacific region.

In her new role at the Swiss insurance giant, Signorelli will initially be based in the US before relocating to Zurich, Switzerland.

"I am very pleased that we have been able to attract someone with Sierra's strong technical expertise combined with extensive international market facing experience to Zurich," said James Shea, CEO commercial insurance at Zurich.

"I look forward to working with Sierra to further simplify and build on Zurich's strength in underwriting capabilities to empower our local teams and ensure consistency of appetite."
