AIG will pay $300m for Everest book; confident on easy take-up

AIG is paying some $300 million for the renewal rights on the $2 billion primary commercial book being abandoned by Everest, with a possible reduction of up to $70 million if those renewals flounder, an eventuality which AIG CEO Peter Zaffino (pictured) believes his company should easily avoid.
