Airmic is speeding ahead with setting up consultation groups ahead of what is tipped to be a favourable decision on the back of the UK Government's recent consultation into a possible captive regime, Julia Graham, CEO, Airmic, said at a press conference held today (June 10) at the organisation’s annual conference.
A fuller announcement is expect at Airmic tomorrow afternoon (June 11). Graham said, however, that the Bank of England has confirmed Airmic can move forward with “optimism and confidence”. Graham said Airmic offered a very detailed response to the consultation, which finished in February, and expects to play a role in the next steps.
“They are happy for us to be bullish. We don’t have a date yet, but we know Airmic will be a primary player in the next stages of this, so we are already crafting plans. They like the fact we are so close to the end-customers. We expect this to happen and further announcements will come very soon,” she said.
Graham also suggested that Airmic would launch a ‘Fundamentals of Captives’ to complement its Risk Management Fundamentals courses. “That is what members are telling us they want,” she said.
