At the 2026 Airmic conference in Birmingham, a session titled ‘Underhyped and underestimated’ saw delegates hearing stark warnings about the pace and geopolitical implications of AI, with Dr Keith Dear, chief executive and founder of AI start-up Cassi, arguing that society is still failing to grasp the scale of change under way.
