Allianz warns of shadow fleet threat to maritime safety and environment

They sail under the radar with questionable safety standards, murky ownership, and no proper insurance. Known as the “shadow fleet”, these vessels now account for around 17% of the world’s tanker fleet—a number that has surged since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
