Allstate battered by wind and hail in March, triggers aggregate treaty

US retail P&C insurer Allstate added $1.04 billion in pre-tax catastrophe losses in March, chiefly on wind and hail, taking its year-to-date tally to $2.2 billion following a heavy hit from California wildfires in January, enough to trigger recoveries on the group’s aggregate reinsurance.
