Antares at Lloyd’s launches credit and political risks consortium

Antares syndicate 1274, the Lloyd’s insurance arm of QIC-owned Antares Global, has launched a consortium for the underwriting of credit and political risk insurance.

The maximum line for the consortium will initially be $40 million. Antares will lead with a 75% line with the remaining 25% provided by other Lloyd’s carriers.

The consortium, already actively considering submissions, draws on the credit risk and analytical capabilities of Antares’ political & financial risk team.

James Thomas, class underwriter for the Antares political & financial risk team, said: “We are very pleased to have successfully launched and closed our first polices under the consortium.
