Australia, New Zealand join the global reinsurance softening party

The 1/7 renewals have brought the property cat softening party to the South Pacific, where buyers took increasing confidence from the enduring global softening and capital providers found enough reason to venture into the distant markets to deliver 10-15% rated cuts on average, analysts at global reinsurance brokerage Howden Re said of the renewal exercise.
