Autonomous vehicles: no free ride in the product liability lane, US warns

Autonomous vehicles might notably dampen accident frequency and ensuing individual accident claims costs, but could just as easily bring a jolt in litigation costs as the insurance coverage shifts into the more costly litigious areas of product and cyber liability, the US Treasury has said.
