UK insurer Aviva likely captured investor attention with its roughly £3.3 billion bid for rival Direct Line Group (DLG) given a strong case for synergies and an easier escape from Direct Line’s ongoing struggles and could likely make real inroads with a moderate single-digit sweetening of the bid, stock market analysts have suggested.
