Severity, not frequency, of climate losses hits reinsurers

As temperatures continue to rise globally and extreme weather events become more destructive, reinsurers are grappling with escalating climate-related losses. Morningstar’s latest “European reinsurance” analysis reveals that the key challenge is not the frequency of natural disasters, but their increasing severity, which is sharply driving up economic losses.
