Bermuda’s double-digit GFCI ranking jump signals bigger shift for re/insurance

For years, Bermuda’s role in global insurance has been described through the familiar language of “discipline” and “cycles.” But the comments emerging from Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers’s (BILTIR) CEO and The Bermuda Business Development Agency’s (BDA) CEO around the latest Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) rankings point to something more structural: Bermuda is positioning itself as a permanent global infrastructure for increasingly complex risk transfer, irrespective of market conditions.
