Californians increasingly turn to surplus market for homeowner coverage

Californians are increasingly turning to the surplus market for homeowner coverage, radically changing the profile of E&S new business flow from what used to be just problem placements into lower-risk standard properties spread increasingly across the state, a study by the California Surplus Lines Association has shown.
