Convex founder Stephen Catlin to share leadership thoughts at this year’s Global Insurance Forum

Convex founder and reinsurance industry legend Stephen Catlin (pictured) will be sharing his perspective on leadership at this year’s Global Insurance Forum event, due to take place in London on November 15-16. 

Catlin, who previously founded Catlin and then became executive deputy chairman of XL Catlin, will share his view from the top with Protective Life chairman Michael Morrissey.

Organised by the International Insurance Society (IIS), this year’s event, whose theme is “Turning Volatility into Value”, will draw prominent senior insurance executives and innovators from around the world.

GIF 2026 will take place over two days on the trading floor of the Lloyd’s Building in London.

Other speakers this year include Swiss Re group CFO and IIS chairman Anders Malmström, Chubb EMEA president Ana Robic, and Lloyd's of London CEO Patrick Tiernan. 

Alessa Quane, CEO International Markets at Sompo, will be sharing her thoughts on managing volatility as strategy at another session. 

Senior executives, industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators will discuss the most pressing opportunities and challenges facing insurers.

Topics to be discussed during the Global Insurance Forum include AI, new sources of capital, tort costs, sustainability, addressing protection gaps, insurance workplace skills.
