Cytora adds industry veteran Clarke to accelerate growth strategy

Industry veteran Emmanuel Clarke, formerly president and CEO of PartnerRe, has joined the board of insurtech Cytora to support its global growth strategy.

Cytora has expanded its global advisory board with the addition of Clarke. The move comes on the heels of “significant growth” at the insurtech including a recent partnership with Chubb.

Clarke has had a broad and successful career in the insurance industry including leadership roles across property and casualty (P&C) and specialty lines as well as building out a global reinsurance business. Clarke serves on the board of various companies including Intact Financial Corporation, BMS and Compre.

Cytora's advisory board group consists of leaders across the commercial and specialty insurance, including Bronek Masojada, chair of SiriusPoint and formerly CEO of Hiscox; Kelly Lyles, board member at Convex and Howden Group; Jeffrey Hayman, chair of R&Q Insurance Holdings and former board member of Zurich Insurance Group; John Bruno, president of Xerox and former Group COO & CEO of data & analytic services of Aon; and Bill Bloom, former CIO and head of operations at both The Hartford and Travelers; Thomas Huerlimann, board member of Hiscox and former CEO of Zurich Global Corporate; Adrian Brown, former UK CEO RSA; Karen Green, board member of Miller Insurance Services and Phoenix Group Holdings; and Alan Morgan, former senior partner at McKinsey and head of financial services.

Clarke said: “I look forward to working with the Cytora team to maximize its impact across the (re)insurance industry, and accelerating a future where insurance companies can materially uplift the volume of risks they can write, at higher decision quality and at a fraction of current cost by leveraging Cytora’s approach to AI and data.”

Richard Hartley, CEO of Cytora, said: “I’d like to welcome Emmanuel to the advisory board. The transformative opportunity presented by artificial intelligence is a top board level priority and it is a difficult area for insurance companies to navigate to achieve defining and enduring success. Emmanuel will benefit our team, partners and clients with his deep expertise across the insurance value chain.”
