Dale snaps up ex-TMK reinsurance head to expand in global property market

Dale Underwriting Partners, the trading name for Dale Managing Agency Lloyd’s Syndicate 1729, has snapped up Tokio Marine Kiln’s active underwriter as it looks to capitalise on current market conditions within the property reinsurance lines.

The company has hired Will Curran (pictured) as head of global property reinsurance, effective March 11, 2024.

Based in London, he will be responsible for building and optimising Dale’s global property reinsurance business and will report to Dominic Peters, active underwriter.

“Will has a proven track record of providing an exemplary client service and we are delighted to welcome him to Dale,” said Peters. “Will’s arrival allows Dale to strengthen our global offering, enhancing our existing leadership with Tony Forder as Head of North America Catastrophe and Arran Wright as Class Underwriter and Head of Ceded Re.

“This appointment comes at a time when we feel we are in a strong position to now capitalise on current market conditions, optimise our sustainable growth plans to drive market leadership within the property reinsurance lines further expand our clients and broker proposition.”

Curran said: “This is an exciting opportunity for me to be joining Dale Underwriting Partners at a significant time in the company’s history. I hope to use my experience to enhance the team’s offering in the global property market and to build Dale’s Risk excess of loss portfolio.”
