Drought and El Niño ignite fears of severe western wildfire season
Large portions of the western United States and portions of Canada are on track for an increasingly active wildfire season through July thanks to a rapid transition towards El Niño, persistent drought conditions and below-normal snowpack, a seasonal forecast from the North American National Interagency Fire Center claims.
