E&S bonanza draws new players, promises margin pinch: AM Best

The continuing spill-over of insurance business from admitted lines to excess and surplus (E&S) channels is drawing newcomers at an ever faster pace, cutting into the market share of E&S leaders and threatening to put an eventual pinch on to-date expanding margins, analysts at AM Best said of surplus line segment results through mid-2025.
