Global Re looks strong after 2025, but margin pinch looms: S&P

Global reinsurers coasted through a low catastrophe 2025 for their third straight year of returns in excess of cost of capital, a development likely to add on to the supply-demand imbalance accelerating a broad market softening and putting margin risks on the horizon, analysts at S&P said in their review of 2025 and the 1/1 renewals.
