Hancock assumes CEO role at AIG

Peter Hancock has assumed the role of president and chief executive officer (CEO) of American International Group (AIG), succeeding Robert Benmosche.

In accordance with the company’s succession plan, announced on June 10, 2014, Hancock has also joined the board of directors.

Hancock joined AIG in 2010 and was named CEO of AIG property casualty in March 2011, when the division was reorganised into two major global groups: commercial and consumer.  He had previously served as executive vice president, finance, risk, and investments, AIG.
