ABI bolsters board with two new appointments

The  Association of British Insurers (ABI) has further strengthened its board of directors with two new appointments.

Colm Holmes, Allianz UK CEO, will replace Jon Dye who stepped down as Allianz CEO at the end of November, having attended his last board meeting in October.

Clare Bousfield, managing director for Retail & Savings, M&G replaces Julian Adams who is retiring from his role at M&G.

Barry O’Dwyer (pictured), ABI president, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Colm and Clare to the ABI Board. Both bring a wealth of expertise and experience, which will be fully utilised in the Board’s work in defining and executing future ABI strategy at this crucial time for our insurance and long-term savings industry.”

Holmes commented: “I am delighted to be re-joining the ABI Board at such an exciting and challenging time for our industry. The ABI plays a highly significant role in shaping the insurance and long-term savings market, and I am looking forward to working with the rest of the Board to support the developments that our customers and members want to see.”

Bousfield said: “Our industry faces perpetual change and opportunities, but what remains unchanged is our need to protect ourselves, our families and to plan for the future. I look forward to working with my Board colleagues to help ensure that our industry is best placed to meet these needs.”
