AGCS hands North American energy & construction to Canadian leader

Allianz's global insurer for specialty corporate lines AGCS named a twelve-year leader of its Canadian operations to lead its full North American energy and construction efforts.

Darren Tasker becomes regional head of energy & construction, North America, having held the parallel post for the Canadian market for AGCS for the last nine years. Tasker came to AGCS from Zurich where he had been a large construction underwriter from 2006 to 2010.

Tasker will remain in Toronto for his role overseeing the fuller North American team while reporting to Bill Scaldaferri, president & CEO for North America.

Scaldaferri commented: “We are pleased to announce that Darren will be leading our North American Energy & Construction business. This is the first time that a North American business line will be run by an individual based in Canada, demonstrating the strength of our team north of the border.”
