AIG appoints new general counsel as Walsh declines role
Insurance heavyweight American International Group (AIG) has appointed a new general counsel, following Patricia Walsh's decision to stay with her current employer, despite previous plans announced in late September for her to take on the role at AIG.
Rose Marie Glazer (pictured), who served as interim general counsel since October 1, 2023, has been named permanent general counsel, with immediate effect, overseeing AIG’s legal, compliance, regulatory and government affairs functions.
Glazer remains an executive vice president reporting to Peter Zaffino, AIG chairman and chief executive officer, and member of AIG’s executive leadership team. Most recently, Glazer served as AIG’s chief human resources & diversity officer since January 1, 2022.
Walsh, who had previously been announced as joining AIG, has recently decided to remain at Stripe. She has served as a director on the board of Corebridge, and also worked at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
