AIG poaches head of investor relations from Marsh

American International Group (AIG) has hired a new head of investor relations in New York.

Quentin McMillan joins AIG as vice president and managing director to lead the investor relations function, reporting to Mark Lyons, AIG’s chief financial officer.

He joins from Marsh McLennan where he served as senior director of investor relations. Before that he worked for Keefe, Bruyette & Woods as managing director of equity research for property and casualty insurance, having also held a similar role at Morgan Stanley.

Sabra Purtill remains a deputy chief financial officer and treasurer at AIG, reporting to Lyons, and continues to oversee treasury and banking and rating agency relations. Purtill also continues to serve as interim chief risk officer.

Lyons said AIG’s Q1 results demonstrated the significant momentum AIG has built up, which has allowed it to pivot from remediation to profitable growth.

AIG is making meaningful progress on its enterprise-wide transformation through AIG 200, as well as the separation of its life and retirement business.” Lyons added. Purtill is playing a leading role in driving through this separation.

McMillan praised AIG as “a results-driven organisation”, highlighting its “world class management team coupled with its culture of underwriting and operational excellence.”
