Alliant hires seven execs from Beecher Carlson for energy and marine

California-based Alliant Insurance has appointed Robert Bothwell as executive vice president of its energy and marine group, and has hired six other executives from Bothwell’s team.

Brendan Fountain has joined the company as assistant vice president, Brenna Melvin as senior vice president, Kolleen Rahilly as the first vice president, Cara McGrath as account manager, and Bridget McBride and Valerie Maher as assistant account managers.

Boston-based Bothwell and his team has been brought in to provide risk management and insurance solutions to a global client base.

Alliant aims to expand its offerings in the power and utility sector and bolster its operations in the Northeast region with the new appointments.

Prior to joining Alliant, Bothwell headed the global energy practice of insurance and risk management brokerage firm Beecher Carlson as its president.

He has also worked for Chubb Group as a boiler and machinery underwriter, and in the energy department of Zurich Insurance in the past.

“Rob and his team are highly regarded for their sheer breadth of services and expertise, acting as an extension of clients’ risk, finance, operations, and asset management departments,” said Tom Corbett, chairman and chief executive officer of Alliant.

“With a longstanding track record of success and a strong emphasis on collaboration, the team provides risk management consultation that is technical, creative, and powered by service.”
