Alliant taps insider to helm retail property and casualty leadership

US-based specialty insurance brokerage  Alliant Insurance Services has tapped one of its own to oversee the growth and expansion of its retail property and casualty business.

Peter Arkley (pictured) has been elevated to president, Alliant Retail Property and Casualty. In his new role, Arkley will lead Alliant’s retail P&C operation to leverage the strength of its specialty group and geographic business to drive operational excellence.

Previously president of Alliant Specialty, Arkley was responsible for developing and implementing the business and financial strategy. Under his leadership, the broker claims it experienced growth of over 107% in organisational revenue and grew total premium volume by $5 billion over the past four years.

He has also expanded the group’s talent base and insurance practices to a portfolio of 13 verticals. Under his strategic direction, Alliant Specialty saw double-digit growth year over year during the pandemic.

Arkley joined Alliant in 2011, and prior to that served as chief executive officer of the global construction operations for an international insurance brokerage firm.

“Peter has had an impressive track record of leading Alliant Specialty, one of the nation’s largest and most diverse specialty insurance operations, through significant growth,” said Tom Corbett, chairman and CEO of Alliant. “He is an integral part of Alliant’s leadership team and will continue to drive the momentum forward as we enter the next chapter of growth at Alliant.”
