Allianz AGCS regional head of claims quits; replacement revealed

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS),  Allianz group’s specialist corporate insurer, has appointed a new leader of its claims services business across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics.

Tom Major (pictured) will serve as regional head of claims for regional unit London and Nordics, starting June. He succeeds Lars Vissing who has left for an external opportunity outside the  Allianz Group.

Major will remain based in the London office of  AGCS,  Allianz’s entity for large-scale corporate and specialty risks.  He will report to Nadia Côté, who joined as managing director regional unit London and Nordics in May, with an additional reporting line to chief claims officer Thomas Sepp.

Since joining  Allianz almost ten years ago, Major has worked in a variety of increasingly senior roles.  He joined as a business strategy analyst in the energy and marine teams, before moving into underwriting as a junior underwriter in construction, then underwriter and subsequently senior underwriter.  He moved to claims and his current role over two years ago.

Sepp said: “Tom is already well known to many in his current role leading our Property, Energy & Construction Claims team.  His experience across the insurance value-chain means he is expertly positioned to lead our Regional Claims team for London and Nordics.”
