Allianz goes local in UK drive for financial & professional line growth

Global insurance giant  Allianz has built a new eight-strong team for underwriting financial lines across three new UK regional hubs as it pursues commercial insurance growth in directors & offices (D&O) and professional indemnity.

Gareth Machin becomes senior underwriter alongside underwriters Maggie Kwok and David Aguirreburualde for financial lines for a northern hub from Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow and Belfast.

Luke Hayne becomes senior underwriter in the Midlands / south west hub for Bristol, Birmingham and Cardiff alongside underwriters Antionette Amory, Caitlin Davies and Daniel West, all in financial lines.

Lucy Bunnett will go it alone for the south east hub at Maidstone, Chelmsford, London and Southampton as senior professional indemnity underwriter.

Allianz Commercial’s managing director for mid-market Dave Carey said: “We’ve invested heavily in recruiting the best people and I’m very happy to unveil our new look financial lines underwriting team. With a mixture of new faces and existing Allianz talent we have highly experienced and talented experts in place.”

“The creation of regional hubs maximises local opportunities and empowers our underwriters to work closely and quickly with our broker partners in those areas. We have ambitious plans for growth and I’m excited that we’re embarking on this new strategy together.”
