Allianz reveals new chief operating officer

Allianz Holdings has tapped an insider with years of banking sector experience, including at Barclays, as new chief operating officer (COO).

As COO, Ashish Patel (pictured) will have responsibility for overseeing operations and technology, including Allianz’s transformation programme. He will also join the Allianz Holdings executive committee.

Patel has worked for the Allianz Group for nine years, having previously held the position of head of Allianz Technology India. Most recently, he led the global delivery network for Allianz Technology, where he was responsible for overseeing branches in India, Spain and Thailand. Prior to joining Allianz, Patel had a lengthy career in the banking sector, including six years as director at Barclays Bank India.
