Aon boosts reinsurance capital advisory team with Athene hire

Re/insurance broker Aon has hired Sue Lee from Athene to join its reinsurance solutions capital advisory team as a director in corporate finance.

Based in New York, Lee will help support the company's core property casualty merger and acquisition (M&A) and advisory services, and will be responsible for strengthening Aon’s life M&A offering. She will report to Kathleen Monaghan, head of corporate finance for reinsurance solutions.

Lee joins Aon from Athene Holding, where she served as investor relations director. Her previous roles included equity research vice president at Barclays, and investment banking associate at BMO Capital Markets. During her career, she has gained experience in M&A, capital raising and financial reporting.

Kelly Superczynski, head of Americas capital advisory for Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business, said: “Sue’s experience of nearly a decade across investment banking, equity research, and investor relations has afforded her a great combination of skills and capabilities that she now brings to Aon to further enhance the value we are able to bring to our Life clients, while at the same time driving the expansion of our Capital Advisory offering.”
