Arch swoops for Allianz’s senior property underwriter in Australia

Arch Insurance Australia, a part of Arch Insurance International, has tapped a senior underwriter from Allianz to help further diversify its portfolio in the property sector.

The insurer has appointed Daniel Khalil as senior underwriter – property.

Khalil will be responsible for expanding Arch’s distribution network in the property arena, while also growing the division’s product base and further diversifying its portfolio. He will also support skills development within the team in a mentor role. Based in Sydney, he will report to Sebastian Allison, underwriting manager – property.

Khalil has over 17 years of insurance market experience. Most recently, he was property production underwriter within the commercial division at Allianz Australia Insurance. He has also held roles at Lumley Insurance and Whitbread Insurance Brokers and began his insurance career in 2005 at Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT).

Allison said: “Arch is delighted to welcome Daniel to the property team. The relationships, expertise and energy he brings to the role will contribute significantly to our ability to achieve our short- and long-term goals for the property sector.”
