Ardonagh’s Ed Broking marine managing director departs for Acrisure Re

Acrisure Re, the reinsurance wing of global insurance broker Acrisure, has hired the marine R/I managing director of Ardonagh’s Ed Broking.

Chris Jones (pictured) has joined Acrisure Re as head of marine and space, based in London.

Jones was most recently managing director of marine R/I at Ed Broking since October 2019.

Acrisure recently launched a new subsidiary covering the German, Austrian and Swiss markets, to be led by a Willis Towers Watson veteran of 19 years, Mathias Pahl.

The broker sees a huge opportunity to grow in the facultative space across the Central Eastern European (CEE) region. Earlier this year, it partnered with a Polish reinsurance broker with operations in the wider region.
