Argo appoints president of US professional lines

Argo Group has appointed Craig Landi as president of Argo Pro US, reporting to Steve McGill, group head of professional lines.

Landi is now responsible for leading all aspects of the underwriter’s US professional lines business, which includes a broad portfolio of errors and omissions and management liability products sold through appointed retail and wholesale brokers.

Landi joins Argo from Freedom Specialty Insurance, where he was president and chief operating officer. Prior to that he held senior leadership roles at Arch Insurance Group, ACE Insurance Company, CNA Insurance Company and American International Group where he started his career in professional lines underwriting.

“As an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Craig has demonstrated his ability is to develop and manage all the specialized operations required to build, grow, and maintain an exceptional professional lines insurance business,” said McGill.

He added: “His efforts will help us take Argo Pro to the next level of client service, growth and innovation in the marketplace.”
