Ascot plucks two AXA XL inland marine leaders for own US portfolio

Specialist re/insurer  Ascot Group mined the ranks of  AXA XL for two inland marine specialists to take the reins over its US own inland marine portfolio.

Jon Mosby (Pictured) comes to ascot from a term as AXA XL’s point man for its northeast inland marine business, the latest stop in an over fifteen-year industry career at several leading carriers and brokers. At Ascot he will manage the US inland marine portfolio.

Dustin Jones will tag along with Mosby to take a position as VP for inland marine. Dustin most recently served as assistant VP at AXA XL and brings more than 22 years in the risk management to the post.

Ascot’s head of US Marine Tom Nasso commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Jon and Dustin to Ascot to partner with me in leading our Inland Marine portfolio. I know their disciplined approach to underwriting will help add value for our clients and further our growth in the marine space while appropriately managing our exposure. Our Inland Marine offering complements a number of product lines in the Ascot ecosystem, enabling us to provide bespoke solutions to clients on our A rated paper.”

Mosby added: “I’m thrilled to join Ascot’s group of talented risk professionals and look forward to partnering with Tom, Dustin and the wider underwriting teams to further our Inland Marine market presence and deliver innovative solutions to our business partners.”
