AXA XL hires Zurich's Saverio Longo as new Italy country leader

AXA XL Insurance has hired Saverio Longo as country leader for its Italian operations, succeeding  Simona Fumagalli, who was appointed head of international financial lines, Europe in July.

Longo joins AXA XL from Zurich Insurance Company where he held several senior leadership positions, most recently head of commercial insurance for Italy.

He will join AXA XL in November and will be based in Milan.

In his new role, Longo will be responsible for further integrating AXA XL’s insurance operations in Italy, shaping and implementing the company’s strategy and increasing its footprint in the country. Along with the local underwriting teams and in close collaboration with AXA Italia, he will play a critical role in the development of new propositions and innovative solutions to better address the needs of the Italian market.
