AXA XL taps ex-AIG to lead cyber business in Asia-Pacific & Europe

AXA XL Insurance has tapped a seasoned cyber underwriter, who previously worked at AIG, to enhance its capabilities in Europe and Asia-Pacific in response to the “dramatically” growing demand.

Carlos Rodriguez Sanz (pictured) has been promoted to regional product leader, cyber – APAC & Europe.

In his new role, Rodriguez Sanz will lead AXA XL’s cyber business in APAC & Europe and drive the execution of its strategy, in close partnership with local underwriting and distribution teams across the region.

Rodriguez Sanz has more than 10 years’ experience in cyber insurance. He joined AXA XL in 2020 from AIG as cyber product leader for Iberia before being promoted to cyber product manager, APAC & Europe in 2021. Prior to working in the insurance industry, he held a number of positions in IT consulting and risk management, advising major corporates on their technological risks.
