AXIS Re reshuffles its reinsurance leadership team and launches property division

AXIS Re, the reinsurance business segment of AXIS Capital Holdings, has made a series of appointments in its reinsurance leadership team, and created a new division for property reinsurance.

Ann Haugh has been named as president of the newly formed global property division. Haugh previously served as president of global markets. In her new role she is responsible for leading property underwriting globally.

AXIS Re has also combined the EMEA LatAm and Asia Pacific divisions into a single international division and named Andy Hottinger as president of this business. Les Loh remains in his role as president of Asia Pacific, reporting to Hottinger.

Jonathan Gray becomes president of the specialties division, formerly the global markets division. He leads specialty lines globally, including agriculture, aviation, credit and surety, marine and mortgage.

Gray now reports to Steve Arora, AXIS Re chief executive officer, and joins the reinsurance leadership team. Gray was previously AXIS Re’s head of Lloyd’s.

Jason Busti remains president of the North America division, while assuming the additional responsibility of leading the AXIS Re Strategic Partners client initiative.

The appointments are all effective from July 1.

Arora said: “These adjustments enable us to continue to adapt to market conditions, while furthering our commitment to delivering strong expertise and an engaging client experience.”
