AXIS Re snares Lloyd’s casualty underwriter from AXA XL

AXIS Re, the reinsurance business segment of AXIS Capital Holdings, has strengthened its global markets team with a new appointment.

Lisa Hiscock becomes senior underwriter, Lloyd’s casualty, with a mandate to underwrite Lloyd’s casualty treaty business and support both existing partnerships and new growth opportunities.

Hiscock has more than ten years of experience in the industry, and joins AXIS Re from AXA XL where she spent five years. She started her career at Hiscox in London as an underwriter within the specialty team. She continued her career in Australia, where she focused on crisis management lines, with a broad remit of classes and line management responsibilities.

Hiscock will continue to be based in Australia but will transfer to the UK later in 2021.

Joe Sweeting, head of Lloyd’s casualty for AXIS Re, praised Hiscock’s “unique blend of experience in the industry” and in particular her background working across a number of classes and geographies.
