Barbican updates leadership for Syndicate 1955
Barbican Insurance Group has implemented a new leadership structure for Syndicate 1955 with the appointment of David Slade as divisional head of property, Olivier Decombes as divisional head of energy, power and utilities, and Andy Caldwell as divisional head of specialty.
Simons Saunders will continue to serve as divisional head of marine, aviation and transport for the syndicate, and Caldwell will continue his role as deputy active underwriter as well as his new role.
All of the divisional heads will report to David Booth, active underwriter for Syndicate 1955.
Iain Bremner, managing director of Barbican Managing Agency, said: “The appointment of these highly experienced and well respected divisional heads will help to reinforce the very clearly defined leadership structure for Syndicate 1955.
“We have in place a strong team with the drive, focus and ability to move the business forward under David’s direction. We believe that current market conditions, while challenging, offer opportunity for sustainable growth.”
