Beazley veteran exits after 16 years for top reinsurance role at Allianz

After more than 16 years with  Beazley, the insurer’s group head of ceded reinsurance and third party capital has departed for a top leadership role at the  Allianz Group.

William Mills (Pictured) has joined Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), Allianz Group’s specialist corporate insurer, as global head of reinsurance. He is based in London.

Mills has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, majority of which has been spent at Beazley in various reinsurance leadership roles. Prior to joining Beazley, he worked at Aon Benfield.

“Last day at Beazley after 16 years,” Mills said announcing his move on LinkedIn. “My thanks to colleagues past and present, in particular to my unofficial mentor Christian Tolle. Thank you also to our many reinsurer and broker partners - see you on the other side.”

Tolle is the group head of political, accident and contingency at Beazley. He commented on Mills’ post: “Good luck with your new role Will and wishing you every success! Still happy to have a chat if you ever feel the need!”

AGCS said it was delighted to welcome Mills into the Allianz family.
