Berkshire Hathaway’s new unit TransRe reshuffles top roles
Global reinsurer TransRe, a part of the Berkshire Hathaway group following a major M&A deal, named ten major promotions across top-level underwriting, actuarial and operational roles.
The firm's top actuarial role goes to Suzanne Holohan, lifted to replace Ken Apfel as chief actuary following the latter's retirement. She reports directly to the firm's CEO.
Cedric Lobo becomes Chief Risk Officer, reporting to Matt Mahoney, Chief Operating Officer.
Six promotions in underwriting reshape leadership in North America plus global financial risks.
John Fugit becomes deputy chief underwriting officer for North America to work with the global portfolio team and North America managers, reporting directly to Kyle Rhodes, president of TransRe North America.
Ben Hodge rises to head of US property, treaty and facultative, also reporting to Rhodes.
Aisling Jumper assumes the position of head of global underwriting operations, having previously been the claims manager for FAIRCO.
Shawn Lynch becomes global head of financial risks to work with TransRe’s regional underwriting teams on overall strategy and portfolio composition. Lynch will report to Paul McKeon, Transre's president of regional markets.
James Nunn assumes the position of international head of financial risk to help regional teams manage the financial risk and terror books. James will report jointly to Lynch and Laurence Butt, CUO of TransRe London.
John Spencer becomes head of North America surety to lead the surety and credit portfolios, also reporting to Lynch.
Among several big moves in operational roles, Tony Celii assumes the post of deputy general counsel, Brett Denyer becomes head of sustainability and resilience.
