BHSI names head of product liability in North America

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, has appointed a head of product liability in North America.

Angela Meyer, previously head of life sciences in North America, has been promoted to the new role.

Meyer joined BHSI in 2014 as senior underwriter, casualty, and has held a succession of increasingly senior positions in BHSI’s casualty organisation in North America. She has more than 20 years of insurance industry experience. Meyer will be based in Atlanta.

BHSI in North America provides products liability, discontinued products and IBNR coverage across the spectrum of manufacturing and distribution classes.

Bill Smyth, senior vice president, casualty, BHSI, said: “Angela has played a pivotal role in building our casualty business since BHSI’s beginning a decade ago. In her new role, her exceptional technical skills and commitment to customizing solutions will serve our product liability customers and brokers well in an evolving marketplace.”
