BIBA appoints chairman to Smaller Brokers’ Advisory Board
The British Insurance Brokers’ Association’s (BIBA) Smaller Brokers' Advisory Board has appointed Andrew Gibbons, managing director at Mason Owen Financial Services as chairman.
Previously serving as deputy chairman, Gibbons replaces Kevin Hancock who has stepped down from the advisory board following the integration of the General Insurance Brokers’ Committee, in order to focus on his personal business commitments.
Ashley Rogoff, managing director at Ashley Page Insurance Brokers has become the deputy chairman. He has been a member of the advisory board since it launched last year and is also a member of the Financial Conduct Authority’s Smaller Business Practitioners’ Panel which provides a voice for smaller regulated firms into the FCA. Rogoff will join Andrew on the main BIBA Board.
Gibbons said: “I am delighted to take over the role of chairman. Kevin has done a fantastic job of developing the advisory board in its first year. It is an important time for insurance brokers and I look forward to driving the advisory board forward and ensuring that it plays a key role in representing smaller brokers who are BIBA’s largest segment of membership.”
Rogoff commented: “It is a privilege to take over as deputy chairman of the Smaller Brokers’ Advisory Board and to join the main BIBA Board. The advisory board provides members a simple route into BIBA and I will passionately promote those issues at Board level.”
Steve White, BIBA's chief executive, said: "This is a very important advisory board and I’m pleased to have two such highly respected brokers leading it. Having them both on the main BIBA Board reflects the importance of smaller brokers within membership who can rest assured that they have a strong voice speaking up for them on the issues affecting their business."
