BPL Global, a credit and political risk insurance (CPRI) broker, has expanded its Asia Pacific presence with the appointment of Cindy Gunawan as a broker.
Gunawan reports to Peter Gilbert, chief executive of the company’s Singapore subsidiary.
Prior to BPL, Gunawan served as a senior associate at Standard Chartered, specialising in trade finance distribution.
In the last year, BPL Global has increased its workforce more than 10 percent, taking the total to over 80 members of staff.
Some of the senior appointments include James Reynolds and Jonny Carruthers, both assistant directors at the London headquarters.
BPL Global’s partner broker in the US, EIA Global, also appointed John Lavelle as senior managing director for trade credit, structured trade and political risk insurance.
Gilbert said: “We are delighted to announce Cindy’s appointment as we continue to develop the CPRI market in Asia. In Singapore we have already this year witnessed increased demand for insurance from clients engaged in international trade, investment and lending – and are scaling up to cope with this.”
