Brit appoints CEO of Singapore operations from ArgoGlobal

Specialty re/insurer Brit has appointed David Lim as the CEO of Brit Global Specialty Singapore with effect from May 15, 2017.

Lim's appointment follows the opening of Brit’s Singapore office in March 2016, and is in line with its strategy to expand in Asia.

Lim joins Brit from ArgoGlobal, where he was most recently the head of marine in Asia. Prior to ArgoGlobal, he held senior roles at Allied World, RSA and AON.

In his new role, Lim will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities and establishing new lines of business for Brit Singapore, working together with chief underwriting officer of Asia Pacific Charles Barrett.

Lim will report into chief underwriting officer for Brit Christiern Dart.

"He brings with him an extensive knowledge of the Asian market having founded the Marine Insurance Committee under the General Insurance Association of Singapore as the sole representative of Lloyd’s Asia on the committee," said the company.

Matthew Wilson, Brit Group CEO, added: "We are delighted to announce the appointment of such a well-respected underwriter to the role of CEO for Brit Singapore. We have ambitious plans to expand our footprint in the region and David will play an important role in this.

"Importantly, David brings with him a wealth of relationships and knowledge of the local market, something that is especially important when operating in the region and will be of significant benefit to Brit as we look to expand the business."
