Brit strengthens Latin America platform

Specialty re/insurer Brit has made a number of underwriting hires for its new Miami-based Latin American and Caribbean platform.

Carlos Becerra joins as vice president, underwriting, and Jimena Salgado will be joining as underwriter.

Both will focus on Latin American and Caribbean property and will report to Juan Calvache, senior vice president, Latin America.

Becerra joins Brit from AIG, and has previously worked for Calvache at Partner Re. Salgado joins Brit from Liberty International and had previously held a production role at Colemont.
