Cathedral hires Sompo Canopius exec

Lancashire’s Lloyd’s business Cathedral Underwriting has appointed Paul Edwards to underwrite North American property catastrophe reinsurance business for Syndicate 2010.

Edwards, who will join Cathedral in September, most recently served as a property treaty underwriter at Sompo Canopius.

Richard Williams, active underwriter for Cathedral Syndicates 2010 and 3010, said: “Paul has in depth knowledge of the catastrophe reinsurance markets and many years of practical experience of underwriting throughout all phases of the reinsurance cycle.

“He joins us to lead the underwriting of the Syndicate 2010 North American property catastrophe reinsurance portfolio. Paul’s expertise will further enhance our ability to meet the needs of our clients and the broking community and Cathedral’s long standing reputation for excellence of service. I am delighted to welcome Paul to Cathedral and the Lancashire Group.”
